How much does trash bin cleaning cost?
BinOps offers three tiers: $50 per bin for a one-time clean (pay per clean, no commitment), $35 per bin per clean on our quarterly plan with 4 cleans prepaid upfront for the full year (1 bin = $140, 2 bins = $280), and $30 per bin per clean on our bi-monthly plan with a choice of 3 cleans prepaid ($90/bin for 6 months) or 6 cleans prepaid ($180/bin for the full year). Multi-bin discounts apply automatically.
What areas do you serve?
BinOps serves Northern Virginia (Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford counties and the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas, and Manassas Park), Washington D.C., and Southern Maryland (Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary's counties).
Do you serve Frederick County or Northern Maryland?
Yes. BinOps services Frederick County, Montgomery County, Howard County, and Harford County in addition to Southern Maryland (Charles, Calvert, St. Mary's). Frederick, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Jarrettsville are all in our service area. Text us at (703) 440-7670 to confirm we cover your street.
Do you serve my Northern Virginia neighborhood?
Almost certainly yes. BinOps is based in Northern Virginia and services every Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford, and Fauquier county neighborhood — including Reston, Herndon, Vienna, Tysons, McLean, Springfield, Burke, Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, Woodbridge, Manassas, Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax City. If your street isn't on the list, text us at (703) 440-7670 — we're expanding weekly.
Why does my trash can smell so bad?
Trash bins smell because leaky bags, rotten food, juice from groceries, and liquid waste seep into the plastic and create a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. Over time this builds up and no amount of air freshener will fix it. Professional high-pressure cleaning with deodorizers eliminates the source, not just the smell. BinOps offers this service throughout Northern Virginia starting at $50 for the first bin and $40 per additional bin.
How do I get rid of maggots in my trash can?
Maggots appear when flies lay eggs on food residue inside your bin. The only real solution is a deep clean — sealing or spraying the bin just hides the problem. BinOps handles residual maggot residue as part of our standard service (after active infestation is removed). Most common in summer months across NoVA. First bin $50, each additional $40.
How does the curbside bin cleaning process work?
After your regular trash pickup, leave your empty bin at the curb. Our team arrives the same day or within the hour, cleans the interior and exterior with high-pressure equipment, applies a biodegradable deodorizer, and returns the bin to its spot. You'll receive a text confirmation when the job is complete.
Do I need to be home for bin cleaning service?
No. As long as your empty bin is accessible at the curb or driveway on your scheduled service day, we can take care of the rest. You'll get a text confirmation when we're done.
How often should trash bins be cleaned?
We recommend bi-monthly cleaning (every other month, 6 times per year) for most households, especially during warmer months. Quarterly cleaning works well for light users or homes without pets. Heavy-use households or those with babies, pets, or severe summer heat may want to ask about more frequent service.
Is the cleaning process environmentally safe?
Yes. We use biodegradable deodorizers and capture wash water where required by local regulation. Our high-pressure approach minimizes chemical use and keeps harmful runoff out of storm drains.
What types of bins do you clean?
We clean standard curbside residential bins in 32, 64, and 96 gallon sizes, including trash, recycling, and yard-waste bins issued by your waste hauler or HOA. We do not service dumpsters, commercial containers, construction debris bins, or bins with active infestation, hazardous materials, or structural damage.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
One-time cleans have no commitment — pay per clean. Quarterly plans are an annual commitment with 4 cleans prepaid upfront ($140 minimum for 1 bin). Bi-monthly plans offer a choice of 3 cleans prepaid for 6 months ($90 minimum for 1 bin) or 6 cleans prepaid for the full year ($180 minimum for 1 bin). After your prepaid term, you can cancel or renew at the same per-clean rate.
I have multiple bins but only want to pay for one — can you rotate which bin you clean?
Yes. Just let us know when you book, and we'll alternate which bin gets cleaned each visit. Some customers prefer this. Others want all their bins cleaned every visit — both are fine.
What counts as a 'bin' in your pricing?
One bin is one individual container — your trash bin, your recycling bin, or your yard waste bin. If you have all three, that's 3 bins. Each additional bin is $40 on a one-time clean, so 3 bins is $130.
Do you do more than bin cleaning?
Yes — BinOps is expanding into full exterior home services. Driveway and sidewalk pressure washing launches summer 2026, followed by gutter cleaning and exterior house washing. Customers who combine services get bundle pricing, and since we're already at your property, we can knock out multiple jobs in a single visit.
How long does each cleaning take?
Each bin takes under 15 minutes on average. Most households are serviced in a single visit without you ever needing to interact with our team.
Do you need access to my water or electricity?
Yes. Our team uses an accessible outdoor water spigot on service day. If powered equipment is being used, we may also need access to an outdoor electrical outlet. Water and electricity usage is minimal — typically just a few gallons of water per bin. Please confirm both are accessible when you book.
